For Colored Girls is an ongoing series by Ed Maximus that challenges the limited and often negative representation of the Black women's body in the art world. Conceived in 2015, this project seeks to counter the censorship, politicization, and policing that often surrounds the nude form and instead highlight its beauty and complexity. By collaborating with Black women from diverse walks of life and experiences, the project aims to create a body of work in which every black woman can see a piece of themselves.
